Buda Country Fair & Wiener Dog Races

Make sure you don’t miss the namesake weekend of “The Wiener Dog Capital of Texas”!!  Hosted by the Buda Lions Club on April 30 and May 1, this annual country fair is sure to please adults and kids alike.  The weekend kicks off with a pet parade followed by the now nationally known Wiener Dog Races.  Qualifying rounds are held on Saturday and Sunday, and the main ‘run for the roses’ event is held Sunday afternoon.

The whole weekend will be hopping with live entertainment, food, arts, and craft vendors.  Also,  the Lions will sponsor a BBQ Cook-off and Chili Cook-off on Saturday.  This is serious business, as the chili cookers will compete for points that can qualify them for the world famous Terlingua International Chili Championship.

Get on up to Buda April 30 and May 1 before the wiener dogs leave you in the dust!  For more information please visit the Buda Lions’ Club Website.
